Multisegmental Stability
نویسنده
چکیده
There is a growing body of evidence to strongly support the use of labile surfaces in training and rehabilitating the neuro-musculo-skeletal system1. Most of this evidence supports the notion that labile surface exercises stimulate the activation of muscular contraction strategies originating from segmental and multi-segmental spinal reflexes and reactions. Local stabilization muscles primarily contribute to these muscular strategies and act to “stiffen” joint segments.

Scheuermann kyphosis: safe and effective surgical treatment using multisegmental instrumentation.
STUDY DESIGN A retrospective review was conducted on 23 consecutive patients who underwent surgical correction of Scheuermann kyphosis using modern multisegmental instrumentation. OBJECTIVE To evaluate Scheuermann kyphosis correction and complication rates. SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA The surgical treatment of Scheuermann kyphosis remains a topic of debate. The literature of the 70s and 80s ...

STUDY DESIGN An in vitro biomechanical study to compare 2 different dorsal screw fixation techniques in the cervical spine with respect to primary stability and stability after cyclic loading. OBJECTIVES To investigate if the biomechanical stability is better in pedicle screw or in lateral mass fixation. SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA In patients with poor bone quality who require multisegmenta...
متن کاملAtypical spinal tuberculosis involved noncontiguous multiple segments
In its typical form, spinal tuberculosis (TB) presents as destroyed contiguous vertebral bodies with involvement of intervertebral discs and paravertebral or psoas abscesses. Atypical forms are uncommonly reported. Here, we describe 8 patients with noncontiguous multisegmental spinal TB with no intervertebral disc involvement. From 2013 to 2014, we surgically treated 384 patients with spinal TB...

AIMS To determine the surgical approach in patients with multisegmental (four or more segments) OPLL of the cervical spine. METHODS AND MATERIALS Data of 27 patients who had undergone either an anterior (corpectomy with excision of OPLL and interbody fusion = 14 patients) or posterior approach (laminectomy = 12, laminoplasty = 1 patient) for the multisegmental cervical OPLL was analyzed retro...
